Grand Victorians On Display at our Ellington Showcase

On display at our Ellington Showcase are three stunning Grand Victorians that show off the series’ range and versatility. One serves as a sleek garage with plenty of windows. The other combines natural colors with rustic flair. Lastly, one has been transformed, with sliding doors and a timber frame overhang that will look great by a poolside. Let’s take a photo tour of these three Grand Victorians.

12' x 20' Grand Victorian Cape

A timber frame lean-to overhang and a set of sliding doors makes this Grand Victorian feel like a luxurious pool house. White LP Board & Batten siding and a five-panel farmhouse dormer enhance the shed’s appearance. This Grand Victorian Cape has six 24" x 48" single-hung windows, and two 18" x 18" fixed windows in the gables. The windows are black, as well as the sliding door, giving the shed modern style. Inside, an open space awaits your personal touch.

14' x 24' Grand Victorian Cape Garage

Mopboard Black siding, trim, and doors, paired with timber accents, give this 14' x 24' Grand Victorian Cape Garage a polished look. This shed has Duratemp siding, three 24" x 54" single-hung windows, and one 24" x 24" fixed window. In the front gable, timber show rafters with corbels catch your eye. Enter the shed through the 6' wood double doors, or through the 9' x 7' Carriage Overhead Door with square glass. Other features of this Grand Victorian Cape Garage include a six-window Farmhouse dormer, an 8' ramp, and a 6' x 14' loft.

14' x 20' Grand Victorian Cape Garage

This 14' x 20' Grand Victorian Cape Garage features Duratemp siding in the color Avocado, plus two timber accents that bring a natural feel to the exterior. A Straight Timber Accent Truss and a Modern Timber Frame Eyebrow Roof, manufactured at our Ellington, CT timber frame facility, adorn the front of the shed. You’ll also find two black 24" x 48" single-hung windows, black shutters, and black doors. The four pane transom dormer, and the single wood door with transoms, help bring more light into the shed. Inside, a 4' loft provides extra storage space, and a poly-armor floor system protects your floors from dirt, oil, and debris.

This year, there are two Victorian Cottages on display at the Ellington Showcase, each with a modern dormer. The modern dormer first appeared on the shed series in 2023 and it’s been a popular option ever since. This dormer allows for a seamless connection to the shed’s windows, letting in more light than ever before. Let’s take a closer look at these two standout sheds.

76' x 105' Timber Frame Airplane Hangar

Timber Framing the Airplane Hangar: Part Two

In January, we completed the landmark raising of a 76' x 105' timber airplane hangar. Over 77,000 board feet of Douglas Fir timbers were raised and joined with hardwood oak pegs. This raising was a significant feat for The Barn Yard. Since then, our crew has continued to work diligently to assemble the weather-tight shell, install siding, windows, and the 65' hydraulic tilt-up door. Let’s take a look at some recent photos.
