The new Manufacturing & Design Facility will be home to Great Country Timber Frames, a new sister company of The Barn Yard. Great Country Timber Frames will serve the growing custom timber frame home and commercial project market, as well as design & cut timber frames and timber components for The Barn Yard, other builders, & general contractors.

Our Fall Festival sure was a lot of fun this year! The hay ride was a big hit and everyone enjoyed the Hummel hot dogs, apple cider donuts, and apple cider. Plus plenty of pumpkins for everyone, complete with a carving template. It was a festival to remember!

Introducing our newest design: the Alpine Timber Frame Pavilion. Featuring hammer beam trusses with powder coated strapping, this new outdoor pavilion is available completely built in CT, MA, RI & New England or as an outdoor pavilion kit shipped nationwide.

The Grand Victorian is a truly one of a kind building. It can be a shed, single bay garage, home office, pool house, and more. For this customer, the Grand Victorian Cape Garage became "The Hangar," an airport-inspired hangout with a beautifully finished interior.

The Barn Yard was recently featured on WWLP NBC Channel 22's program "Mass Appeal." This segment was broadcast on September 23 and is available to watch online. In this video, Seth Stutman, host of Mass Appeal, visits The Barn Yard at the Big E and talks with Chris Skinner about the extensive display of sheds, garages, and pavilions.

A lot's changed at our New Manufacturing & Design Facility since our last blog post. The exterior of the building is now complete and the landscaping is going in. Inside, the drywall is up and timber frame accents are in place.

When The Barn Yard was called to design and build a Carriage Barn in Colebrook CT, we were faced with an interesting challenge. On the homeowner's property are several 1800s period post & beam barns. In addition, the property is in a historic district. Therefore, it was essential that the new barn compliment the old ones, in both the construction style (post & beam) and exterior features.
