Carriage Barn With a Car Lift

By opting for a partial loft instead of a full loft, the owners of this 36' x 40' Lenox Carriage Barn were able to add in a car lift. Let’s take a tour, inside and out, of this barn. Read on for the details and photos.

A classic red exterior, with three overhead doors—two on the front eave and one in the lean-to—and several windows create a serene sight. Gooseneck lights adorn the exterior of the barn. As we head inside, the second floor loft stops before reaching the opposite gable end, allowing for 14' of soaring ceilings. This opening is framed perfectly above one of the overhead doors, allowing the client to drive a car up onto their lift and work with ease. Authentic post and beam construction with mortise and tenon joinery can be found throughout the barn. Heading up the timber frame stairs to the second floor, you’ll find an open area with endless opportunities. A collar tie roof system negates the need for posts upstairs. Minimalist Carriage Barn

A unique choice of doors on this 24' x 58' Plymouth Carriage Barn creates the illusion of there being no doors at all. Four 9' x 8' hinged, insulated double barn doors sit flush with the reclaimed barn board siding. Inside, glulam tie beams span 24', preventing the need for center posts. Cars are parked inside with plenty of space to spare. The customer opted for a partial loft, which overlooks the main barn and creates more vertical space within. Read on for a photo tour.
